For the past ten weeks Culinary Workforce Training Participants have built up their culinary skills in the Production and Training Kitchen at the NMEP Food Hub. From simple soups and salads to intricate meat fabrication and baking techniques, the participants increased their knowledge base and will be using it as they venture into the internship phase of the program. This cohort, each participant is going to a very different location offering unique perspectives on menu, preparation, culture and service. Christapher @ Spencer's
Spencer’s is known for serving the best cuts of meat in their upscale and classic restaurant located in downtown Omaha. Led by Chef Glen Wheeler who has been a staple in the Omaha food scene since his arrival in 1994.
Ray @ Au Courant Regional Kitchen
This Benson eatery provides ambiance with a European twist on your favorites. The menu is updated weekly to reflect seasonal, local and sustainable ingredients.
Parris @ Noli's Pizzeria
Did someone say pizza? Noli’s Pizzeria serves traditional scratch made New York Style pizzas out of Omaha’s fast growing Blackstone District. They partner with other local businesses to source their ingredients and beverages.

CWTP Participant Applications Are Open
As an approved Workforce Investment Opportunity Act training program by the Nebraska Department of Labor, participants can use workforce investment funding to cover the cost of enrollment and retain any benefits they are currently receiving while in paid internships. The Culinary Workforce Training Program is now taking agency referrals for participant placement in the next cohort.
