Edgar Hicks has 40+years’ experience in the field of agriculture, international grain marketing, and rural husbandry. He has served on the executive committees of the Nebraska State Grange, Nebraska Rural Development Commission, and USDA’s Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education (SARE) council. Advisory committees Hicks has also served on include: USDA Federal Grain Inspection Service (FGIS), USDA Small Farms, USDA Emerging Markets, and CFTC Agricultural Markets. He is a founding member of the Kansas Black Farmers Association of Nicodemus, KS and George Washington Carver Grange of Omaha. Edgar also serves on the boards of Humanities Nebraska, Douglas/Sarpy County Extension Foundation, Mildred Brown Study Center, and Whispering Roots. He is a graduate of Pace University in New York City, and a member of Salem Baptist Church. This year, Edgar is seeking a six year term on the Westside (District 66) school board.
