Welcome to Omaha Gives! 2016 with No More Empty Pots! We are so excited to share this charitable challenge organized by the Omaha Community Foundation. The online giving holiday will take place May 25 from midnight to midnight. Mark your calendars because we will need your help! We will be joining over 700 local nonprofits to raise money together and compete for matching funds and prize money. The more money we raise, the larger percentage of the bonus dollars we will receive. The more donors we get to give to us, the more likely we are to win prizes.
Omaha Gives! is a one‐day event led by the Omaha Community Foundation to raise as much money as possible for local nonprofits through online fundraising. It is a community‐wide event to show off Omaha’s spirit of giving, raise awareness about local nonprofits, and celebrate the collective effort it takes to make this city great. CHALLENGE IMPACT: No More Empty Pots is building a food hub. Every dollar raised counts towards a larger match challenge of $250,000. Read more here. Here is what $9,850 will support:
- $4,000: Chef uniforms for a class of 10 culinary workforce training participants
- $3,000: One basic set of knives for 10 culinary workforce training graduates
- $2,000: Sponsorship of 10 hours in the shared use commercial kitchen for 10 teen entrepreneurs
- $1,000: Set of cutting boards for food safety training and preparation of 150 healthy senior and youth meals daily
- $ 750: Heated six pan carrier to transport hot foods from kitchen to serving location
- $ 500: One inspired art piece by a local artist
- $ 250: One stainless steel prep table
- $ 100: One instruction manual for a workforce training participant
- $ 75: One nutrition education session for ten workforce training participants
- $ 50: One set of stainless utensils
- $ 25: Weekly linen, towels, and mat sanitation services for the kitchen
- $ 10: Four scratch-prepared meals for seniors and youth
The long term impact of reaching the Omaha Gives! challenge goal include: living wage jobs, prepared and productive workforce, and increased access to healthy food for youth and seniors.

• Schedule a gift! For your convenience, you can schedule gifts between April 1 and May 24. We
encourage your to donate early if you cannot participate on May 25.
